So…Camille offered up a bit of a challenge on her blog. A parade of quilts if you will. Show your first quilt and then show your last one. Since I’ve just started then I can only show my first. And of course it’s not done. Camille is really the one who got me interested in quilting in the first place so it’s only right that I use one of her patterns for it. Right? I know some of you won’t be too impressed…(I’ve seen your work) But hello! There was no one around to help me with this and I know zip about quilting! So yup, I’m so loving it and I’m impressed with myself! LOL! (Now I just have to figure out how to get it quilted and then I’ve seen several binding tutorials and it’ll be done!! (Don’t my boys look SO handsome with their shaggy hair? I need to cut it)
Oh! I almost forgot! In the interest of keeping me interested in quilting, you should show me LOTS of kind comments…Hee! Hee!
I did learn a couple of things doing this quilt. One is that when you have a border of strips that you are adding to the edge, they do stretch. Hmmm...good to know. And the other thing is that when something black that kind of reminds you of tar comes off of the iron onto your fabric, then just add another flower! LOL!!

Julia- this turned out great!! I'm so proud of you! Glad all those bank visits were good for something. It was always fun to see you there. Hooray for almost-done!
Very cool! I love it. Even though I'm getting old (over 50) I still love all those "Mod Squad" prints. It reminds me of my teenage days.
oh my gosh julie...only you could turn a quilting picture into something funny!...LOVE the new FLOWER!
Hi Julia ~ That is your first quilt? I love it ~ Bloom is one of my favorite Thimble Blossoms patterns EVER!
Congratulations to you for finishing your first quilt! Quilt top... quilt... same difference. One is just thicker than the other. A friend calls her quilt tops "flimsies"... it's nothing but a really thin quilt. :)
Thank you for sharing and I look forward to seeing more quilts! And next time, have those boys smile for the camera ~ I bet they're very cute. :)
so cute. I love it. I want one to match Rissa'sroom Pink and orange. Can you get right on that! UR awesome.
I absolutely love this quilt and have wanted to make one. So impressive as your FIRST quilt. I'm almost ashamed to show my first now. I was too slow to catch the parade of quilts, but maybe I'll get it up later today anyway. Great job on yours!
LOL -- the black from the iron is another flower... too funny.
Seriously you are doing a fabulous job.. I love that pattern of Camille's. It will be done in no time I'm sure.
Wish I had all these cute kids to help me display things. Adorable.
That thing is not a quilt.....its a masterpiece!!!! I am as proud punch!!!!!!! good job. I love it and maybe when things calm down, I will give it a whirl!!!!! Love ya,,,,(no surprise yet..maybe today?) love you
Okay, it is stunning! You should feel very good about what you have accomplished! Way to go with the adding a flower!! I hope you will continue to quilt and share what you are doing!
I'm with Judy! That's NOT a quilt! IT needs to be hung up and displayed on a wall. : D YOU ARE SO AWESOME in the sewing and talents department. So jealous!
Great idea about the extra flower. You are SO smart!
P.S. Who knew that you knew Camille personally. I have a cousin that lives up here, her is on Camille's site all the time. She also took up the challenge. Small world!!!
WOW! What an ambitious first project! But you probably didn't know that! LOL. Love it.
that is amazing for your first quilt! great job.
Cute quilt! I just started quilting a couple of years ago so I know all about being new to it and learning as I go. I have found so many wonderful blogs that help me and inspire me with their use of color! Through blogging I also found Moda fabric which is so popular in blogland. Good job on the quilt! Cindy

Wow!! That one is your first?! I'm amazed! Wasn't the swurvy edge tricky for you to do? I'm still too scared to try it and I've sewn several quilts. You should be super proud.
