My Love Affair

I admit it.  I’ve been having a love affair.  I’m not going to say I’m not ashamed, because I am.  But sometimes I feel like I just couldn’t help it. He’s just so beautiful, so delectable, so just entirely scrumptious, that I fell.  It’s been going on for about 17 or 18 years now.  I know, how could I not know exactly when it started? Right?  Well, I don’t.  I don’t remember the exact day of when it began.  But let me tell you what an amazing thing it is.  He’s there for me through thick and thin, {rain and storm and ice}, when I’m happy, he’s there. When I’m sad, he’s there.  When I’m mad, he’s there.  (Sometimes, I feel like he’s there too much! But how can I complain, he loves me right?)

But here’s the thing, I’m breaking it off.  I can’t do this anymore.  I have to get my life back on track.  I need to get myself back again.  I feel dirty, ugly and unworthy.  So here’s what I’m gonna do.  I’m leaving him and beginning and new life without him.  I’ll be a better person. (I mean, who wouldn’t after carrying on a 17 year affair, and ending it)  I’m going to be an honest person.  I will take responsibility for what I do.

My affair with food is over.  I’ve lost 8 lbs. and I’m going to continue until my goal is reached.  But, I won’t be  going back to lovely food again.  Well, maybe I’ll cheat once in a while. But I won’t feel guilty about it since I’m not about depriving myself apparently!  But, all things in moderation right?

On to other things:

Here’s the cute skirt I made for Brynleigh.  I made one for Isabelle and Leighton and Emma too.  But I have a picture of Bryn’s!  Isn’t  it too cute!!?

That’s right my peeps, I sewed that bit of loveliness by myself with the online tutorial from here.   Seriously, I had the computer on next to my machine pretty much the whole time!  And it was sooooo easy.  Although the pockets were a little tricky the first time.  But, by the time I was done with all of the them I was a pro!  (Hee, Hee!)

And I have some pictures of the kids for their first day of school.  It’s in front of our front door.  I think I should go to the schools and take pictures there, like Lynn does.  I think it looks better than my front door.  It’s a little beat up after 16 years of the kids kicking on it to get in…

And aren’t my babies so cute?  Emma and Joseph started kindergarten this year!  I didn’t know whether I should cry or be ecstatic .  I think I was a little of both.

augustsept2009 063 This photo was so funny! I told them to open their eyes because they were squinting, so this was there solution, in a blink of an eye.  Ha Ha!

augustsept2009 067 They definitely liked the slide.  But as soon as the bell rang, they came to Mom to grab my hand.

I  had some better pictures of us, but my rear end looked HUGE in them. So I got a semi side shot instead.  But not near as cute.  Emma practically ran into her class and Joseph dragged me into his and didn’t want to let go.  He’s doing much better now.  Cracks me up, every time he walks in the door he’s dragging out his homework to do right away.  I love it!

Notice the mismatched clothes?  I had such a bad morning that day.  I had one of the kids wash up her cute little pants to go with her top and then asked Kelvin to put it in the dryer in the morning when he got up.  He asked Laura to do it for him.  Well, she didn’t turn it on (the dryer).  So then I asked McKenna to turn it on for me.  So she did.   Then I asked Kaidan to go get them so I could put them on her and Kaidan said they weren’t there.  I said yes they were and he insisted that they were not there.  So then I knew what happened.  I asked him to look on the floor in front of the washer.  Yup, there they were.  Still wet after all this time!!   So I said, “Kaidan, could you please put them in the dryer and make sure they are actually drying”   He came back upstairs and told me they were drying.  I said “Are you sure that the dryer is running?”  “Yes”  was his reply.  So, I quickly went to Wal Mart to get a photo printed up that I was supposed to have done earlier and hadn’t.  When I came back and went to the laundry room to get the pair of pants, the dryer was not on and the pants were sopping wet.  Oh my gosh, I thought I was gonna have a heart attack, I was so mad!  I think I was actually bawling over it!    I had to put her in the first thing I could find that was clean because I was totally late by that time and needed to go.  I was still 10 minutes late.  I’m not gonna lie, it was a very bad morning!

I started a new quilt a couple of weeks ago.  And I’m  almost done.  Wanna see?  I still need to put the border on it, quilt it and then bind it,  but seriously, it’s almost done!

I am so excited to finish this.    I seriously can’t wait until it’s all done and washed and dried.  All that crinkly goodness.  Yummy.  Come on people, I’m feeling a little bit down lately and need some encouragement….

Oh!  And I couldn’t forget this…

Judy, a new blog friend that I found this year, sent this wonderful package as a gift for giving her a gift.  That sentence made me giggle.

It was such a lovely thought.  Thank you so much Judy!  It truly made my day!  I think I was practically jumping up and down that day.    Here’s what I received:

“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth and to every nation, kindred, and tongue, and people.”

                                                                               Revelation 14:6

Judy took this picture and played with printing this scripture on it.  Isn’t it beautiful?  I love it.  Here’s where it sits now.

Judy also sent me this lovely keychain.  The minute I opened it up I had two children telling me that they wanted me to put their picture in it with mine.  Of course I haven’t put any in because I can’t without someone getting their feelings hurt.  But I still treasure it and it made it’s home on my keychain!

Thank you Judy!  I’m so glad I “met” you!

Too cute with the kids...and they are getting so big.
I hear ya on the love affair with food...yikes!
Maybe we need to get yucky tasting lip gloss so everything tastes horrible.

Love the quilt, keep up the good work!

SWEAR by it :) Just read the book and follow it. It's a lifestyle change. That simple. No gimmicks. No calorie counting. Nothing! It makes SO much sense, and it follows the Word of Wisdom too! Easy peezy. Send me an email, I would love to send you an invite to my blog also :)
