My New Best Friends

So I’d like you to meet my new best friend.  She’s been really good to me.  Comforts me when I’m down.  She doesn’t interrupt me when I’m talking.  She just listens.  I really love her and appreciate her.  Her name is Sophia.

Get it?  “Sew” phia?    Ha Ha!  But really, I love her.  She’s been helping me a lot lately.  I’ve been sewing like crazy.  I sewed up some Halloween Trick or Treat Bags for  the kiddos.  I still need to do about 3 more.  Here’s a better picture of my sewing machine.  It’s a Viking/Husqvarna.  I was lucky to have worked for about 2 years, very part-time, and get a stupendous deal on it (40% off)

I’m thinking that soon you’ll be able to just tell your machine what you want done and it’ll pop out done!

Here’s a picture of the Trick or Treat bags.  I love the Halloween material.  It’s so bright and fun!

It’s also lined.  And since I didn’t have a pattern there were a few mistakes made, but of course I learned from them and won’t be doing them again.  Talk about a time-wasting couple of mistakes!  I sewed it inside out.  Ugh….  That means that I had to cut off the sewed edges and turn right sides together and sew it again.  So it’s a little bit skinnier than I wanted it to be.  But I still think it’s cute!

You know, I have to admit, it gives me pleasure to make things for my kids.  They really do love it.

And now I must introduce you to my other friend.  I don’t know his name, I just know that he’s male.  I’ve been thinking about naming him, but I want my friends to help me.  So what what do you think?  What kind of name would suit him?  Would a couple of charm packs of a Christmas line help in the decision?  O.k.!!  I have two charm packs of “Figgy Pudding” up for the winner of the best name for this!!

And if you aren’t sure what this is, it’s a serger.  And boy, do I love my serger!!  Makes things look SO professional.

And here’s a picture of  the beautiful charm packs of “Figgy Pudding!  They would make a beautiful table topper or table runner!!  Who wants ‘em?!!!!

Well then, tell me what to name my serger! Cuz if I need to praise him, I need to praise him by name!  And well, If he gets me a little mad, I need to cuss him out by name! (All bad words deleted)

The name choosing will begin today and end on Tues. or Wed. Whichever I decide.  And since not too many people read my blog, the chances of winning are astronomical!!!  Ha Ha!!

LOL!! I love it! What a cute name for your sewing machine.

And if I (That's typed in caps and bold, if you didn't know) had a machine that just pumped out whatever I told it to (fancy push buttons, wow!) then I would sew up a storm too. Very nice!!

But like my husband always tells me....it's not the machine, or even the programs, it's the machine operator with the talent. ; D I know. I get that. LOL!

I think Judy is onto something. That is a great name for a serger.

But my next choice would be Hem. You know...as in Blind Hem. You could say when you are mad at it "You are SO blind, Hem."

I know. THat is SOooo bad! I might be a little on that ambien that Judy's on too. : D

I would pick Sergeant... So when your "mission" fails, you can blame the SARGE!!!!!!!!! Lol. Get it? I'm a dork. I was just thinking that I would blame headquarters- er the SERGeant, if I sewed a mishap too :P
